Match is the term used at Side Door to signal a mutual interest between a Host/Venue and an Artist. Matches can only occur between users with complete and vetted Side Door profiles in good standing.

Artists and Hosts/Venues must request one another to prompt a match. If you’re a Host that likes an Artist and thinks they would be a good fit for your space/audience, or if you’re an Artist who likes a Venue as a potential performance space, clicking ‘Request to match’ on their profile begins the matching process by sending that User a match request. If both users agree to the request, a match is mutual and a booking conversation is begun!

The ‘Maybe later’ indicates to Side Door that the Venue and/or Artist is not a good fit at the moment. Users are not notified if they are dismissed.

To view all incoming match requests, access your match notifications by clicking on the bell icon at the top right corner of the screen. Users interested in matching with you will be displayed, as well as the response options. Responding positively to the match request will open a conversation with the Host/Artist to start discussing potential show dates, and/or start making arrangements for the booking.
